Car Show and Domestic Bliss

The last couple of weeks we have been mostly around Raleigh taking care of ourselves and things around the home. We did find time to go to the Raleigh International Auto Show, though, where Dominic got to see a smokin' hot Lotus and some Andy Taylor-vintage cop cars (they smelled like bacon up close!).

Beyond that, here are a few photos of Dominic playing on his exer-saucer (the command center) and then pulling his newest trick--chewing on his feet.

Watching the NFL playoffs

Here's an older video of Dominic on Jan. 18th. This was taken while watching the NFL playoffs. Dominic was really interested in Grant, watching him move around the room. Grant and Dommy get along really well, especially when Dominic has extra cereal on his bib!

The Fake Cough

Dominic starting something new, where he does a fake cough with his tongue rolled up when he's excited, instead of laughing. Pretty funny to watch!

Glaze Your Own Trail! KKC 2009

We've finally had time to rest and get our gastrointestinal tracts back "on track" now after the Krispy Kreme Challenge (KKC) 2009 yesterday! For those of you who haven't done it, it begins at the NCSU Belltower, then the participants run 2 miles to the Krispy Kreme Doughnut store, eat 12 doughnuts each, then run 2 miles back in under one hour. This is the fifth year they've had it, and this year they had 5,200 participants. Among those participants were Kirsten, Erik Staub, Tom Luben, Mike, and Dominic! Tom and Mike did the run AND finished the dozen doughnuts, while Erik and Kirsten were smarter and only ate a few. Dominic, I'm happy to say, didn't have any.
Tom and Erik showed off that they'd been training by turning in great times, while Mike, Kirst and Dominic mostly wished to "participate" rather than compete!
People dressed up in all sorts of fashions, and this year the weather (45 and sunny at the beginning) was sufficient that they didn't freeze as in past years. Always a crap shoot in February. With all the fun, crazy costumes, and doughnuts, the student group raised $35,000 for the NC Children's Hospital, which made everyone endure the achy muscles and indigestion a little bit better!
